On April 2, a chance to honor Chicago's murdered children and connect for change

All our hearts suffer each time a child is murdered in our city, and more than 600 of Chicago’s young people have been murdered since 2008. Here is a chance to act as a community to honor those children and connect with opportunities for action. I hope you'll join me and others from many community organizations and faith communities for all or part of this four-mile procession. CROSSwalk takes place Monday, April 2, 2012, beginning at 5:30 pm. It will step off from St. James Cathedral, proceed through the Loop and stretch across the city to the lawn outside Stroger Hospital, with stops along the way at Daley Plaza and Old St. Patrick's Church. At each stop we will lament the loss of our young people and commit ourselves to efforts that protect children and mitigate violence in our communities. Buses will be available for those who require transportation along the route. To register visit http://crosswalkchicago.org
